Strictly's Halloween Week Delayed, Fans Question Schedule

Strictly's Halloween Week Delayed, Fans Question Schedule
It's that time of year again when the sequins are out, the fake tan is flowing, and we're all glued to our screens for Strictly Come Dancing. But this past weekend, there was a bit of a wobble, and not just on the dance floor. A lot of us, myself included, were left scratching our heads when hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly announced that Halloween Week wouldn't be gracing us next weekend, as we'd all rather assumed. Instead, we're getting an Icon Special, and Halloween has been pushed back to November 1st.

It's a peculiar change, isn't it? As reports from the Mirror indicate, a schedule circulating online had Icons Week slated for November 1st and Halloween for October 25th. It feels like a bit of an eleventh-hour switch-up from the BBC, and many fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their confusion. "If they're doing Icons week next week then when is Halloween?" one viewer wondered, echoing the sentiments of many who look forward to that particular frightfully fun themed week.

This season has certainly thrown a few curveballs our way. We also saw Amber Davies step in for Dani Dyer due to an injury, a reminder that even in the glitz and glamour, things can change in an instant. And then there was the welcome return of Stefan Dennis and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell. They had to miss a live show due to Stefan feeling unwell, suffering from a bout of vertigo. He's now back, thankfully, and shared his experience with Fleur East, explaining he had "a little bit of a turn" and thanking everyone for their well wishes. It's always reassuring to hear about the support system behind the scenes.

As we head into these upcoming weeks, with the schedule now clarified, it makes you wonder how these last-minute adjustments impact the contestants and their already demanding routines. Does this change in programming, particularly the timing of Halloween Week, affect the overall feel of the competition? We're all eager to see what the dancers have in store for us next.
